If you live in the Illinois, Iowa or Wisconsin area, you really need to check out the 32nd Annual Fire & Life Safety Conference in Galena, Illinois.  For that matter, if you live anywhere, this conference is worth the travel.   The conference activities take place April 16th through the 18th and is co-sponsored by the Illinois Fire Inspectors Association and the Hawkeye State Fire Safety Association.

I’ve attended this conference several times over the past ten years and each time I have gained an enormous wealth of new ideas.  It is a great place to meet and network with other educators from the area.  If you are looking to add to your program or just recharge your batteries, then you simply must attend.

Some of the programs being presented this year include:

Of course, these are only a few of the great programs lined up for this years conference.  There are whole lot of other fantastic programs being presented.  In particular, you must see the Emergency Action Team (E.A.T.) Restaurant Program presented by Shawn Stephens.  I’ve got inside information that this is a good presentation.  Actually, I work with Lt. Stephens, so I know he has a great program to offer.

For more information or to register, download the 2008 Conference Brochure.

So are you going?

I’m still working out some kinks in my schedule, but I hope to get to the conference this year. Every time I have attended it has been an excellent experience.
