The latest round of the 2007 Fire Prevnetion & Safety Grants were awarded on May 9th totaling $167,000.Â
Awarded in this round of funding from the Department of Homeland Security were Fire Safe Children and Families (Portland, OR) in the amount of $161,275 and the Austin Volunteer Fire Department (Elkin, NC) in the amount of $6,581.
The smallest round of funding in this years grant program was preceded by the first round of denial letters being sent to applicants who would not be funded. If you have not received one of these Dear John letters, there still may be hope. If you did receive one, now is the right time to start working on next years narrative.
