The folks over at I Recommend Cooking have posted a list of cooking safety tips for kids. Aside from the usual cooking safety tips, the list contains a few that were interesting.

For instance, “Glass utensils near the fire can go off like they were grenades. Take for example, a casserole dish near a burner left turned on could explode. You’d be lucky if no one was standing near it when it happened.”
