FEMA Launches Hurricane Preparedness Web Site for 2008

With the start of hurricane season right around the corner, FEMA is urging residents to be prepared for their personal safety and survival in case a hurricane threatens their community.
To assist in these efforts, FEMA, along with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, is helping to raise awareness of steps that can be taken to help protect citizens, their communities and property.

President Bush has declared May 25-31 “National Hurricane Preparedness Week.”Â
To assist with this years hurricane season preparedness, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has created a special section on their web site that is chock full of information that you should know in order to be prepared for the hurricane season. For educators, this would be the perfect starting point for getting facts and tools for putting together an educational program for your residents.
The site contains contains video, preparedness guides, public service announcements as well as tips on what to do before and after a hurricane hits.Â
